Summer Workshop

July 2nd 1pm UK

Summer marks the height of British flowers. The time of the quintessential ‘English country garden’. The first flush of roses, meadow flowers, chlorophyll rich tumbling foliage, an abundance of materials to choose from now until the autumn.

Summer also marks the intensity of the heat. What impact does the heat have on the handling, preparation, transportation and installation of flowers so they perform at their best? How also do you design and select when we are almost spoilt for choice?

Our summer workshop will explore these questions, as well as exploring the creation of a tumbling, abundant centrepiece bowl arrangement. If we could make a bowl arrangement per week, with cuttings from our gardens, we would be happy. The most versatile of floral designs, it is also a key aspect of event floristry.

During the workshop, we will cover:

  • cutting and conditioning summer flowers

  • demonstration of a centrepiece bowl arrangement

  • questions and answers

You can download the cutting list for the materials required if you would like to arrange alongside or after the workshop (cutting list will be uploaded closer to the date of the workshop to ensure alignment with the flowers available in early July).

The zoom dial in will be emailed ahead of the workshop. The recording will be uploaded to the Videos section of the website following the workshop.
