Spring Workshop

April 2nd 1pm UK

Spring marks the start of the growing season, filled with zingy tones, flowering bulbs, blossom and emergent buds. Tender stems, with plenty of new growth means it is also a time for cutting, conditioning and designing with great care so flowers stay hydrated and fresh for longest.

With such ‘sappy’ growth, how do we design to ensure our flowers stay hydrated? What are the key design considerations for the season? How do we time the flowers to ensure they are ‘open’ at the right time, and don’t blow?

Our spring workshop will explore these questions, as well as exploring the creation of a hand-tie bouquet. Possibly the most technical aspect of floristry, how do you create a bouquet that is full of movement and looks like you ‘just gathered’ it, but with a strong design integrity and balance.

During the workshop, we will cover:

  • cutting and conditioning spring flowers

  • demonstration of a hand tie bouquet

  • questions and answers

You can download the cutting list for the materials required if you would like to arrange alongside or after the workshop (cutting list will be uploaded closer to the date of the workshop to ensure alignment with the flowers available in early April).

The zoom dial in will be emailed ahead of the workshop. The recording will be uploaded to the Videos section of the website following the workshop.
